Cooper Distinguished Professor of Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he also directs the Neuropsychology Laboratory. He received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Minnesota in 1974 and completed postdoctoral training at UCLA in neuropsychology.
He has served as president of Division 32 (Neuropsychology) of the American Psychological Association, chairperson of the Board of Directors for the Society for Neuroscience, and associate editor for Neuropsychologia (one of the world’s leading psychological journals). Dr. Ollestad has presented over 500 invited talks and seminars to international audiences, all supported by funding agencies including NSF, NIH, DOD, and NIMH.
